Operation Basadi yields positive results in Kempton Park

On August 14, Lieutenant Colonel Dormel led Operation Basadi, which resulted in the arrest of three suspects: one for possession of suspected illegal drugs, one for possession of illegal cigarettes and dagga, and one for being an illegal immigrant.

“The operation included stop-and-search activities, particularly in the Kempton Park CBD, where theft and vehicle-related crimes are frequently reported,” said Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego.

She added that a total of 324 vehicles and 411 people were searched.

Second-hand shops were also inspected for compliance, and all properties were booked in terms of SAPS Form 13.

Operational commander Lieutenant Colonel Jonker stated that these proactive operations will continue until Kempton Park becomes a safer, crime-free area for all residents.
