Police make multiple arrests in for drugs, DUI, and illegal ammunition

A 44-year-old suspect was arrested after police discovered nine bags of dagga with an estimated value of R8 000.

Between September 18 and 21, members of the Benoni Flying Squad arrested three suspects and recovered drugs and ammunition.

On September 18, at around 08:00, officers followed up on information that led them to a house in Ext 7, Tsakane.

A 44-year-old suspect was arrested after police discovered nine bags of dagga with an estimated value of R8 000.

In a separate incident, a 31-year-old man was arrested in Station Road, Brakpan, after he was found driving on the wrong side of the road while under the influence of alcohol.

On September 21, a 25-year-old suspect was arrested in Kerk Street, Kempton Park, when he was found in possession of a live round of ammunition.

“The suspects are expected to appear in their respective magistrates’ courts on charges of possession and dealing in drugs, driving under the influence, and possession of unlicensed ammunition,” said Warrant Officer Grant Giblin.
