The cause of death was confirmed as applied pressure to the neck, consistent with ligature strangulation. Hattingh admitted she had no consent or lawful justification for her actions and did not dispute the chain of custody of Greeff’s body. A post-mortem conducted by Dr M Nkosi, a forensic pathologist at the Germiston Forensic Laboratory on May 16, 2024, confirmed the cause of death. These findings were entered into evidence. In her plea, Hattingh stated that she and Greeff were acquainted and sometimes shared a room. On the day of the incident, she claimed that during a sexual encounter she tied his hands and feet with an electrical cable, placed a plastic bag over his mouth, and held it until he stopped breathing. Hattingh admitted that she foresaw that her actions would result in his death and accepted full responsibility, acknowledging that her conduct was unlawful, wrongful, and punishable by law. The case will return to court on December 3 for the pre-sentence report to be formally submitted. #kemptonexpress #kemptonpark #kempton #TiktokNews #localnews #DeniseHattingh #crimetok #Crime #SAPS #Murder #court #incourt ♬ original sound KemptonExpress
