Flying Squad’s swift action nets seven arrests and stolen goods haul

Benoni Flying Squad officers arrested seven suspects between October 27 and 30, recovering a stolen truck, vehicles and drugs in multiple operations across Ekurhuleni.

Benoni Flying Squad members arrested seven suspects, recovered drugs, one motor vehicle and one truck with robbed goods between October 27 and 30.

On October 27, at approximately 19:40, members received information from EMPD Crime Intelligence regarding a stolen white Ford Territory located on Storm Street, Birch Acres.

Members followed up, leading to the arrest of a suspect, together with the recovery of the vehicle, which was reported as sought in a Honeydew case.

On October 28, members arrested two suspects aged 19 and 23 years in separate incidents for possession of drugs at Isithama and Endulweni Sections, Thembisa.

Mandrax and rocks (cocaine) were recovered.

Members reacted to information from the community on October 29 at 13:30 about a white Isuzu truck on Danie Street, Springs. The truck was wanted for serious crimes in a Moffat View case from June 2025.

Upon arrival at the address, members found security personnel also present at the scene.

It was discovered that a load of 14 truck tyres, valued at around R700 000 found in the truck, was taken in a recent business robbery, as part of a Cleveland case. Two suspects were arrested on the scene.

In further reporting on October 29, at around 20:40, members operationalised information of a white Toyota Rav transporting dagga on the N12.

The vehicle was spotted along N12 in the R555 direction of Johannesburg and tactically pulled over.

Two suspects were immediately arrested when members found three bags of dagga in the Rav. The vehicle was impounded, and the dagga was handed in as an exhibit. Investigations are ongoing in these cases.

The suspects will appear in the local magistrate’s Courts facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of stolen goods.
