Tembisa woman arrested for possession of hijacked vehicle
A 46-year-old woman was arrested in Tembisa after EMPD officers discovered a hijacked Astra Tigra at her home during a routine operation.
EMPD Northern Region Task Team officers team arrested a 46-year-old woman in Thembisa on October 23 for possession of a hijacked motor vehicle.
During routine crime-prevention duties, officers received information from a reliable source about an individual suspected of having hijacked vehicles across Gauteng.

Officers proceeded to a residence on Kenya Street, Baxa section, and after a brief interview with the 46-year-old homeowner, observed three vehicles in the yard.

A systematic check revealed that one of the vehicles, a blue Astra Tigra, had been reported stolen and hijacked under the Norkem Park Police Station.
The suspect was arrested and detained at Thembisa South Police Station.
She faces charges of possession of a hijacked motor vehicle and is expected to appear in the Thembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
