EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit nabs six in Ekurhuleni crackdown

Officers uncover stash of cannabis, Mandrax, rock pills and more during week-long operation.

EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers arrested six men across the City of Ekurhuleni between November 10 and 14 for possession of illegal substances.

Following information about individuals selling drugs in the community, officers apprehended the suspects in possession of 104 ziplock bags of cannabis (dagga), 41 Mandrax tablets, 44 rock pills, 25 doses of heroin, and one block of cat.

The total estimated value of the seized substances is R15 000.

The suspects, aged 26 to 42, were taken to their respective police stations and face charges of possession of illegal substances. All are expected to appear in the Magistrate’s Court soon.
