Gauteng police arrest 92, recover 46 stolen vehicles in week-long blitz
Flying Squad, K9 and Highway Patrol units join forces in a high-intensity crackdown that nets suspects, guns and stolen vehicles.
Police Emergency Services, comprising Flying Squad, K9 Units, and Highway Patrol members throughout Gauteng, arrested 92 suspects, recovered 46 motor vehicles and seven firearms between November 21 and November 27.
Members participated in various concentrated operations, vehicle check points, secure escorts and intensive patrols around Gauteng, which led to 47 arrests for serious crimes, including assault, common, and GBH, possession of suspected stolen property, house breaking, theft, money laundering, illegal immigrants, robbery, contravention of a protection order, bribery and fraud.

A total of 46 hijacked and stolen motor vehicles were recovered, with nine arrests for the possession of these vehicles.
Seven unlicensed firearms were recovered, along with four arrests.
In further policing, 32 arrests were made for the possession and dealing of drugs. Heroine, dagga, cat (cocaine), Mandrax, and crystal methamphetamine were among those confiscated in these separate incidents.
Investigation continues in these cases.
The suspects will appear in the local magistrate’s courts across Gauteng.
