Two male suspects were arrested and narcotics with an estimated street value of more than R200 000 were seized by the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) during an operation in the Kempton Park area on Tuesday, January 6.

On arrival, officers observed what appeared to be a drug transaction and approached the individuals involved.
“A body search of the first suspect led to the discovery of 18 ziplock bags of khat, six small ziplock bags of crystal meth with an estimated street value of R1 200, and R40 in cash,” said Thepa.
She added that further investigations led officers to nearby premises at the corner of Willow and Park streets, where the alleged supplier was located.
