Suspect arrested in Kempton Park for possession of stolen vehicle

The EMPD Northern Region Task Team arrested a 60-year-old man in Bredell, Kempton Park, after officers discovered the Volkswagen Polo he was driving had been reported stolen in Delmas.

The EMPD’s Northern Region Task Team officers arrested one suspect for possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle in Kempton Park on February 11.

While conducting routine law enforcement duties in Bredell, Kempton Park, officers stopped an orange VW Polo for a systematic vehicle check.

On verification with the control room, the vehicle was confirmed as stolen in the Delmas area.

A 60-year-old male suspect was arrested and detained at Kempton Park Police Station on charges of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.

The orange VW Polo was impounded and taken to the Aeroton Police Pound for further investigation.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court soon.
