Murder accused appears in Kempton Park Regional Court

The court appearance follows the fatal shooting of a 34-year-old man at a property in Van Riebeeck Park on July 14.

Werner Kluge appeared in the Kempton Park Regional Court on July 16.

Kluge, who is accused of murder, had his case postponed to July 23 for a formal bail application.

During proceedings, Kluge’s legal representative objected to media coverage, arguing that his client was uncomfortable with photographs of him circulating on social media.

In response, the magistrate noted that the matter was of public interest and found the objection to be insufficient. The court subsequently granted permission for media photographs to be taken.
