Ivory Park woman arrested for operating liquor outlet with another person’s permit

Police arrested a 45-year-old woman and shut down an Ivory Park liquor outlet after discovering it was operating under a shebeen permit issued to the previous owner.

A 45-year-old woman was arrested in Ivory Park on July 14 for allegedly contravening the Gauteng Liquor Act after she was found operating a liquor outlet using a shebeen permit issued to another person.

The arrest followed a joint operation by the Provincial FLASH (PHO) Liquor Control Team and the Ivory Park SAPS Designated Liquor Officer (DLO).

A woman was arrested for operating a business illegally in Ivory Park.

Acting on information received, police conducted an inspection at a liquor outlet in Ext 10, Ivory Park.

During the inspection, officers established that the premises were operating under a shebeen permit issued to the previous owner.

A woman was arrested for operating a business illegally in Ivory Park.

Police subsequently closed the outlet, confiscated the liquor found on the premises and arrested the suspect.

The woman is expected to appear before the Thembisa Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of contravening Section 127(a) of the Gauteng Liquor Act, 2003 (Act 2 of 2003).
