YANA celebrates fifth birthday

YANA recently celebrated their fifth birthday. The organisation continues to do great work in the community.

The You Are Not Alone Women and Family Centre (YANA) recently celebrated its fifth anniversary with a gala dinner to raise funds and honour the dedicated employees, supporters and donors who have contributed to YANA’s mission.

Founded by Jabulile Maseko in October 2020, YANA provides counselling services to promote mental well-being and strives to combat GB by teaching children the importance of communication and empathy from a young age.

Over the past five years, YANA has made significant strides, growing rapidly to ensure that women and families facing difficult situations are not left to cope on their own.

The event received strong support from the SAPS, with representatives from various departments in attendance.

Sergeant Mkhondo of the Norkem Park Police Station addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude for YANA’s collaboration.

“We appreciate the work and partnership with YANA, as our victims no longer have to travel far to receive counselling. Social workers are now available at our station.”

In recognition of their commitment, all YANA staff members received awards from the board and Maseko.

Maseko encouraged her team to continue doing God’s work for the community, reflecting her heartfelt appreciation for their dedication.
