107 suspected busted, 36 vehicles and 17 firearms recovered
Rapid Response Services made 107 arrests and recovered 36 vehicles and17 firearms during various operations across Gauteng.
Between November 22 and 28, Rapid Response Services comprising Flying Squad, K9 Units and Highway Patrol members throughout Gauteng arrested 107 suspects, recovering 36 motor vehicles and 17 firearms.
Members participated in various concentrated operations, vehicle checkpoints, secure escorts and intensive patrols around Gauteng.

These operations led to 68 arrests for serious crimes including assault common and GBH, possession of suspected stolen property, rape, crimen injuria, malicious damage to property, possession of illicit cigarettes and housebreaking.
Other crimes include contravention of protection order, theft, house robbery, armed robbery, reckless and negligent driving, trespassing, illegal immigrant and domestic violence.
A total of 36 hijacked and stolen motor vehicles were recovered with seven arrests for the possession of these vehicles.
Seventeen unlicensed firearms were recovered accompanying 19 arrests.

In further policing, 13 arrests were made for the possession of and dealing in drugs.
Heroine, dagga and crystal methamphetamine were among those confiscated in these separate incidents.
Investigation continues in these cases. The suspects will be appearing in the local magistrate’s courts across Gauteng.
