Kempton Park SAPS mourns death of one of their own
During her tenure, she secured several convictions, with some suspects receiving sentences of up to 10 years in prison.
The Kempton Park SAPS community is mourning the loss of Detective Sergeant Tebogo Modika, who passed away on November 23 after a short illness.
Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, described Modika as a dedicated officer who made a significant impact during her service.
She was assigned to the district to address cases of malicious damage to infrastructure, where her efforts led to several convictions, some resulting in sentences of up to 10 years in prison.

A memorial service in her honor was held on November 27 at the Maranatha Community Church.
During the service, Kempton Park SAPS detective commander Colonel Lesetja Manewa lauded Modika’s exceptional work ethic, noting that she was destined for a high-ranking position within the SAPS.
“Her passing has left a void in the organisation,” Manewa said.
Brigadier Lindani Ndlovu, Kempton Park SAPS station commander, expressed deep concern over the loss of young talent within the police service.
“We were hopeful for her bright future in SAPS, but when God calls someone at such a young age, it leaves us questioning what lies ahead for our organisation,” said Ndlovu.

Modika was remembered by her colleagues and loved ones as a passionate and committed officer who approached her work with unwavering dedication.
The service also featured words of comfort from pastor Ntshavheni who encouraged the family and colleagues to seek solace and guidance from the Lord during this difficult time.
Modika was laid to rest on Saturday in Tzaneen, Limpopo.
