CoE observes International Anti-Corruption Day
“Corruption is a reality that confronts many around the world,” said Mashazi.
The City of Ekurhuleni observed International Anti-Corruption Day under the theme Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity.
City manager Dr Imogen Mashazi delivered a compelling address, emphasising the global impact of corruption and the critical need for collective action to combat it.
“Corruption is a harsh reality that confronts many around the world, creating challenges, tragedies, and inequalities, many of which are directly tied to its existence,” Mashazi said.

She highlighted how corruption deepens societal inequalities and fuels injustices, calling on municipal employees to actively resist and report unethical practices.
“Our commitment to transparency and accountability is vital in shaping a future built on integrity. Each one of us has a role to play in ensuring that corruption finds no place within our municipality,” Mashazi said.
The city reaffirmed its dedication to ethical governance and fostering a culture of integrity, particularly among youth.
