Partnership brings joy among local children
Mandla Sibiya from the Foundation emphasised the importance of giving back to the community and showing gratitude for the support received.

Princeworld Agbanzo, a local salon owner, recently organised a special Children’s Day event in collaboration with the GO Frederick Foundation, founded by local musician GO Frederick.
The event featured a range of fun activities, including free haircuts for boys.
“This event has been running since 2007 under the Kempton Park Child Welfare, with who we’ve had a long-standing partnership,” said Agbanzo.

“The last event we held was before the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, we couldn’t continue during the lockdown due to restrictions.”
Agbanzo explained that the concept of Children’s Day originates from Nigeria, where he was born.
“I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, where Children’s Day is celebrated every year around the end of the year. I thought it would be wonderful to bring the same tradition to South Africa,” he said.
“Children are a gift from God. We must love and care for them, no matter the circumstances. They are all precious.”

“Some children come from disadvantaged backgrounds, so this fun day is a way to bring them joy and ensure they have a memorable festive season,” said Sibiya.

“We must give joy and hope to children. We encourage community members to make it a habit to donate to those in need. Children are our future, and they should never be neglected.”
GO Frederick added that the 2025 event promises to be even bigger and better.
