While some stalls embraced the Valentine’s Day theme, offering heart-shaped candles, handmade soaps, and romantic gift packages, others focused on their unique products, ensuring there was something for everyone.
One of the vendors, Ronel van der Merwe, owner of Nella Nails, introduced her custom-made press-on nails, which come with an installation kit and removal instructions.
“I make my own press-on nails, and they last up to four weeks. Each package includes everything needed, from a prep kit to removal instructions.

“The market has been an interesting experience, both exciting and unusual, but I’m happy with the progress I’m making,” she said.
The diverse range of stalls catered to all interests, from food lovers and fashion enthusiasts to bookworms.
Shoppers explored a variety of handcrafted items, each reflecting the talent and dedication of local business owners.
Young entrepreneur Adri le Roux embraced the opportunity to showcase her business and connect with customers.
“I’ve been in business for a few years, and I love attending markets because they allow me to display my skills.

Today has been great—people are buying, and that reminds me that my business is a success. I’m very proud of myself,” she shared.

For some vendors, the Valentine’s theme took centre stage.
Nonhlanhla Mtembu, a DIY artist, crafted customised gift packages to suit any occasion, with a special focus on love-themed gifts for the event.
“I create DIY gifts where people can request custom designs, even sending pictures for inspiration. I make gifts for all occasions, including birthdays, but today, I focused on Valentine’s gifts.
“I wanted to try something new at this market, and people have shown great interest in my work, which means a lot to me,” said Mtembu.
The Urban Farmers Valentine’s Day Night Market truly embodied the spirit of love, not just in its theme but in the way business owners and customers connected.

Entrepreneurs enthusiastically shared their passions, while customers engaged with different businesses, showing support and appreciation for local talent.
With a mix of handcrafted items, delicious food, and unique gifts, the event proved to be a celebration of both love and entrepreneurship, bringing the community together in a meaningful way.
