EnviroServ programme benefits 50 learners in Ekurhuleni
The joyful smiles of children marked the event and highlighted the importance of education and community collaboration in shaping the future of young learners.
EnviroServ Socio-Economic Development (SED), in collaboration with the Fibre Circle programme, has benefited 50 learners from areas including Chloorkop, Klipfontein, Phomolong, and Thembisa.
The waste management company brought together parents and children at Mayimele Primary School on February 7, where they donated essential parcels to learners in the presence of their parents.
Makgabo van Niekerk, head of public affairs and communications at EnviroServ, emphasised the initiative was driven by goodwill and aimed at supporting parents eager to see their children in school.

“We are doing this for the children. We see you and want to help you change your family circumstances and be the change your family needs.
“To the parents who attended, we understand the challenges in our country, and being unable to provide for your children does not mean you are not responsible.
“We urge you to guide your children, encourage them to attend school, and ensure they are in class at all costs.
“With the little we are donating as a company, we believe it will bring meaningful change to the lives of these learners.”
Surprise Mamabolo, a family representative of the Tshepo Mamabolo Dress a Learner Foundation, expressed their gratitude for EnviroServ’s commitment to continuing the legacy of the late Mamabolo.

“Mamabolo died fighting for the rights of learners, and we are proud to see EnviroServ carrying forward his legacy by giving back to the community.

Ekurhuleni North district director Papi Makola highlighted the programme’s significance, stating, “We must not see this as just another event but as a transformative moment for the learners.
“People from different socio-economic backgrounds recognise the importance of this initiative because it has a lasting impact.

“I know what it is to feel different from others at school or not to have resources as a learner.
“For EnviroServ to prioritise community support despite being a profit-driven company is commendable.
