Kempton Park SAPS bids farewell to one of their own
In 2018, Wheeler moved to Kempton Park SAPS, where she initially served as a PSA admin before transitioning to the Supply Chain Management division, where she remained until her retirement.
The Kempton Park SAPS Support Members, led by Colonel Motsatsi Lesomo, gathered on March 7 to honour and surprise PSA Member Maryna Wheeler, who officially retired on February 28.
Lesomo was joined by HRM Commander Lieutenant Colonel Theron, supply chain commander Lieutenant Colonel Hlolani, admin commander Captain Sampson, Captain Sebabi, Marais, and other PSA members and SAPS personnel to celebrate Wheeler’s dedicated service.

Wheeler began her career with the SAPS on March 31, 1993, as an admin clerk at Provincial Administration.
On May 1, 2009, she was transferred to Human Resource Management, where she continued to build her career.
In 2018, Wheeler moved to Kempton Park SAPS, where she initially served as a PSA admin before transitioning to the Supply Chain Management division, where she remained until her retirement.
Lesomo expressed gratitude for Wheeler’s contributions, acknowledging her hard work and dedication.
“Unity is strength, when there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved,” said Lesomo.
She added, “Retirement only means it is time for a new adventure.”
Hlolani, Wheeler’s immediate commander, shared how much her support meant to the team from the moment she arrived at Kempton Park SAPS.
“You have done your part, and you deserve this milestone moment to spend with your family. At SAPS Kempton Park, you have left a legacy and passed the baton to capable hands,” said Hlolani.

Hlolani further praised Wheeler for her unwavering commitment and leadership.
“Today, we are gathered not merely to bid farewell but to salute the extraordinary journey of Maryna.Her unwavering commitment and exemplary service have illuminated our path and inspired countless hearts,” said Hlolani.
Wheeler expressed her appreciation to all the commanders and members who made her farewell celebration so special.
As she embarks on her well-earned retirement, her colleagues celebrate the impact she has had on the Kempton Park SAPS and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
