Ekurhuleni police clamp down on crime in operations

The operations focused on visible policing, road safety, and crime detection.

As part of a detective tracing operation, 117 suspects were arrested for various offences, including contact crimes, property crimes, serious crimes, contact-related offences, and gender-based violence.
In addition to tracing operations, roadblocks and patrols were conducted in several areas across Ekurhuleni.

These efforts led to additional arrests for possession of drugs, and illicit cigarettes, driving under the influence, and the closure of illegal liquor outlets.
In Brakpan, a suspect was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole extended her gratitude to the community for their cooperation and commended law enforcement officers for their dedication and professionalism throughout the busy Easter weekend.
“These efforts are vital in maintaining law and order and ensuring that everyone in the district feels safe, especially during busy holiday periods,” said Sithole.
