Police seize counterfeit money and stolen cars in crime crackdown
Officers arrested four suspects at the scene and recovered eight counterfeit one hundred dollar bills ($800.00).
Between July 16 and July 19, members of the Benoni Flying Squad arrested nine suspects, recovered two motor vehicles, and seized counterfeit money.
According to spokesperson Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, two suspects were arrested in Primrose on July 16 at Poll and Fransic Streets during separate incidents where crystal methamphetamine and Mandrax were recovered.

On July 18, at around 14:00, officers acted on information regarding counterfeit money, leading them to a house on Monument Road, Kempton Park.
Four suspects were arrested at the scene, and eight counterfeit one hundred-dollar bills (valued at $800) were seized.
Later the same day, at approximately 15:00, members stopped a silver Toyota Etios at the corner of Van Riebeeck and Terrace Road with two suspects inside.
The vehicle was found to be hijacked in a case reported in Edenvale, resulting in immediate arrests.

On July 19, at around 16:30, officers arrested a suspect in possession of a brown Toyota Stallion at Carnival Mall, following a tip-off from a tracking company. The vehicle was reported stolen in a Boksburg North case in May 2025.
The suspects will appear in the local magistrate’s court facing charges of possession of drugs, possession of counterfeit money, and possession of stolen and hijacked vehicles. Investigations are ongoing.
