MOTH Annual Fête and Fun Day returns on November 1

The organisers encourage support from corporate sponsors and individual donors, who can contribute in a variety of ways.

The Dickie Fritz MOTH Ex-Servicemen’s Cottage Association will once again host its Annual Fête and Fun Day, along with a parade to honour those who paid the supreme sacrifice during World War II.

The event, to be held on November 1, helps raise funds to run and maintain the cottages and support the residents, as old age home grants from the Department of Social Development do not cover all expenses.

This year’s fête promises a fun-filled day for all ages, featuring food stalls, the popular White Elephant Stall, a flea market, craft and cake stalls, a plant stall, raffles, live entertainment, a coffee shop and refreshments, all within a secure environment.

The fête will run from 09:00 to 15:00 at the Dickie Fritz MOTH Cottages, 115 Dickie Fritz Avenue, Dowerglen, Edenvale.

The organisers encourage support from corporate sponsors and individual donors, who can contribute in a variety of ways:
• Prizes or gift vouchers for the raffle draws
• Rental of a flea market stall for R250
• Donations to resident-run stalls such as cakes, plants or crafts
• Other suitable and affordable contributions
• Shop-soiled items to sell for fundraising

The association says all contributions are appreciated and go a long way in making the fête a successful and enjoyable day for residents and the community.
