Long-time community caregiver Rebeca Phathakge has appealed to the public for help in tracing the family of David Fourie, who died on December 14.

Phathakge, who has cared for destitute and vulnerable residents for decades, said she met Fourie three weeks ago and took him into her home, where she gave him food and care, as she has done for many others in need.

Following his death, Fourie’s body was taken to a nearby government mortuary.
