Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza has praised the Class of 2025 matriculants and educators for their dedication as matric results continue to improve across the municipality, while encouraging top achievers and reassuring learners who fell short.
The Executive Mayor of Ekurhuleni, Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, has congratulated the municipality’s 2025 matriculants, praising both learners and educators for their dedication and hard work.
“I am thrilled to witness our Grade 12 learners continuing to climb the ladder of success as matric results for the Class of 2025 continue improving. I am very proud of them all across our municipality for putting in the hard work to achieve this success,” Xhakaza said.

He also acknowledged the role of teachers in supporting learners through extra lessons and study camps, urging this commitment to grow as the city aims for a 100% pass rate. All districts nationwide have recorded pass rates above 80%.
The mayor encouraged those who passed to pursue their future endeavours with determination and contribute to the municipality’s growth.
For learners who did not achieve their desired results, he offered reassurance: “This is just a temporary setback. Government provides various opportunities to improve your performance, and I urge you to seek these avenues and continue your journey to success.”
Ekurhuleni will honour top achievers in the coming weeks through its Excellence Awards, marking their transition to higher education.
