Ward 15 residents invited to stand in 2026 ward committee elections

Residents and organised structures in the Kempton Park customer care area are invited to participate in the 2026 ward committee elections to fill vacant sector positions in Ward 15.

Residents and organised structures in the Kempton Park customer care area are invited to participate in the 2026 ward committee elections to fill vacant sector positions in Ward 15.

The nomination process will run from February 23 until March 6, 2026.

Organised structures, interest groups and sectors may nominate and register candidates for the election of ward committee members to represent the following sectors:
• Women and children
• Youth
• Faith-based organisations
• The aged and people with disabilities
• Economic development and city planning (ED & CP)
• Community safety

The election will take place on March 26 at 18:00 in the council chambers at the Kempton Park Customer Care Centre.

Nomination forms are available at customer care centres, libraries, and public participation offices. Completed forms must be submitted to the community participation and education offices on the fourth floor of the Kempton Park Customer Care Centre.

To qualify for nomination and election as a ward committee member, a candidate must:
• Be a South African citizen
• Be a registered voter in the ward
• Be at least 18
• Have no criminal convictions
• Not owe the council money for services or be in arrears, or be willing to make arrangements to settle the account in accordance with council policy.
