She is the mother of one son and three daughters, though one daughter sadly passed away.
Her legacy continues through six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
“I would like to leave a legacy when I am no longer around, but I need the public’s help.
“I would love my legacy to be a renovated Lapa in the infirmary, a ceiling with pink aerolite would help a lot, or even an air-conditioner,” Venter said.
The Lapa at the Council of the Aged’s infirmary, measuring approximately 8 x 5 metres, currently has no ceiling and can become very hot, with sunlight entering through the many windows.
Venter suggested that blinds would improve comfort. She also requested eight comfortable chairs that are easy to sit in and get up from, which would benefit all residents, allowing them to relax and spend quality time together in the Lapa.
