Area a drug nest, filthy

Resident asks: "why are people allowed to make our streets look like a dump?"

SHANNON writes:

As a tax payer I need to know why are people allowed to make our streets look like a dump?

At the corner of Casuarina Street and North Rand Road, especially at night, it’s worse because they are cooking food and selling it to the public.

Why are they allowed to do these things and why is the house at this corner allowed to be converted into small rooms that are being let out?

At the corner of Kempton Road and Casuarina Street there is garbage that is not collected and just left at the side of the road. I have seen rats the size of 30cm running around there and sewage water is running down the side of the road.

One cannot use the sidewalk as it has been dug up for some electrical work and garbage also lies around there. What is council doing about this?

The other day, while walking past the corner of Casuarina Street and Kempton road, I noticed a Nigerian guy selling drugs to a white male aged between 20-25. They communicated and walked into the tuck shop, did their business, and the white gentleman drove off on his bike.

I have complained about stuff like this in the past and nothing was done. I called the toll free crime line as well and still nothing. Why is my tax money not used to do good?

I have been in Kempton Park for 10 years and seen it go further down every year. When is Kempton Park going to get noticed by Government and President Zuma?

Does he want this place to turn into another Eldorado Park? This town is a beautiful place but Government is not concerned at all.

My solution is that law enforcement officers get rotated to different locations on a weekly basis to stop bribery and need to be more visible. Our streets need to be cleaned up as well.

Let’s see if anyone pays interest to my mail and let’s see if Zuma does something. Jaco, please do something or Kempton Park will be lost.
