I am so distressed as I write to you.
We live in Pomona ext 2 and the weekend of November 3 has been one from hell. There are certain people in the area who are so inconsiderate and selfish, that it is beyond reason.
Those who set off crackers will know who they are. Rest assured, so do I. I am trying to obtain information from council as to the by-laws regulating this matter.
All over the media it is said that this is an illegal activity but yet not even the police are interested in enforcing it. It is a sad day when folks disregard the well being of our animals and wildlife.
Those that participate in this hellish activity should spare a thought for the voiceless animals that are totally traumatised by this noise. I am going to make it my business to stop this practice once and for all.
The look of pure terror, the racing heart, the total bewilderment on my poor babies’ faces are just too much to bear. I am trying to get a campaign off the ground to stop this before more poor souls are hurt, traumatised, lost or even dead by the upcoming festive season and all that goes with it.
If anyone cares and is interested to lobby this cause, you are welcome to email me on lynne.croukamp@mail.com
It is time we stand up and act on behalf of those that cannot speak, only suffer in terribly silence.
