I’m writing this with such a sore heart at how terrible Kempton Park SAPS is.
In Kempton Express of November 6 there was a notice for two men wanted for robbery. It included a picture.
I recognised the one man as someone who was in my garden three weeks ago impersonating an Ekurhuleni electricity meter reader. He tried to break the lock on my gate with a screw driver.
I called the number on the notice to report my incident in the hope it could perhaps help with the investigation.
To my dismay the woman on the other end of the phone laughed at me. She laughed at me saying he was not wanted for breaking locks, he was wanted for a laptop robbery.
Now, I am not an idiot. I am aware of what he is wanted for but to be laughed out when trying to assist I felt was very disrespectful.
And these are the people we put our trust in. The day this man was in my garden, I called the police, and yes, as you would have guessed, I am still waiting for them to come and have a look if everything is ok.
Disgusting if you ask me.

The publication of identikits is an important aspect in locating wanted criminals by seeking the assistance of our community members.
We therefore request the resident to make arrangements to speak to me with regards to this matter by contacting the station on 011-393-8600 to share the useful information to assist in this case.
