My property boarders the park on Lechwe Road and there are a couple of trees that is a place of unpleasant activities.
When I returned from holiday I found the ADT boards on my wall behind these trees burned beyond recognition. When going out there on January 5 to clean and repaint the wall, I found this area to be used as a toilet, sex playground and a drinking place as defecation, used condoms, wrappers, beer bottles, tins and I don’’ know what else were hiding between the long grass all over the area.
I have asked numerous times for this area to be maintained, the trees cut down or the park be closed off similar to the one on Eland Street, with no luck at all. There are two spot lights in the park, the one in the centre of the park is working 100%, the one closest to these trees looked as if it was on a timer switch (more off than on) and now completely off.
A homeless person made his home in the substation situated on the park. The rear vents of the substation had been broken to gain access into the substation. Also, I am sure the electrical department is aware of this but nothing gets done to repair the vents and vacate the homeless person.
His rubble collected from rubbish bags along Lechwe Road and surrounding streets is thrown out the broken vent and is blown all over the park.
This is a park where kids want to play and people want to walk their dogs or just relax but with the unpleasant smell and the health risk with all the defecation and used condoms lying around, it will only be a place where the scum will hang out and another park goes to waste.

The park has been cleaned and the grass cut. The dead trees in the park were removed.
The fencing request must be placed on the IDP listing with the ward councillor, Joey Roos.
The energy department was not aware of problem with the light. It will be attended to immediately.
