Is it possible in any way for our metro police to do something about the taxi industry that has no respect for road rules in Kempton Park.
They stop without considering the safety of other road users and when confronted, they have this attitude of you cannot touch me. This is true in a way as they enjoy the protection of certain police officials due to financial involvement with this industry.
The quad bikes in Glen Marais is a law onto themselves as they ride on pavements and also on public roads. It appears the metro police have no clue that quad bikes are not licensed to be on any public road, let alone pavements.
The motor vehicle licence facility (drive-through) is an excellent service to the community, just a pity that at times vehicles have to wait their turn as this facility is being abused to assist walk-through members of the public.
A very last request, is it not possible for our municipality to clean house and whoever is responsible for the neatness of our pavements to start issuing fines to the home owners not complying.
Also go to the business owners on Monument Road that use the pavements as demarcated parking for their clients. This results in pedestrians, especially the elderly and women with baby push chairs, having to walk in the road and face the dangerous taxis due to the fact that no pavements are available.
The whole of Monument Road is a problem.
