I refer to your front page of November 10.
I found it disturbing that your front page featured the headline, “Two teen girls missing”, and above that was “Two vie for Miss SA Hooters title”.
Makes one wonder just how closely the two are connected.
It is inappropriate in every way to have anything Hooters-related on the front page. It is a blaring sign of moral degeneration and the loss of innocence for our children and the perversion of our men.
The organisation calls themselves a “family restaurant”, but how does the promotion of young girls parading around exposing their bodies to married men, women and children portray a notion of “family time”? It’s sick and twisted.
Why must the general public (including children) be exposed to cleavage? Is this front page news? Especially distasteful when featured above two missing girls.
If this isn’t a sign to everyone about the demise and degradation of our next generation, then we are all blind.
Women have and will always have breasts, this is nothing new. What is news however, is the alarming rate of rape within South Africa, which is currently
26 rapes every minute.
How does the community newspaper expect to make a notable impact on its community featuring girls in inappropriate clothing?
Headlining a company which has built and centred itself on the filthy smut and lust of breasts which God created only for a husband to enjoy with his own wife?
Makes me sick to my stomach that these girls’ parents have allowed them to be affiliated with the company. Why any confident, well brought up and intelligent young lady would want to be ogled by old married men is beyond me!
Lastly, what are you married men doing there? Stop perving over girls young enough to be your daughters! Each one of them is someone’s daughter and should never be in this “restaurant” !
Go home, look after your families, love and be the provider thereby being a real man.
The second comment is for the Bachelor Competition.
I find it quite disturbing that the prize for the bachelor and his “choice” woman, which are obviously not married, have a “grand prize” of sharing a night in a hotel.
How does this reflect on all other single people? That it’s ok to spend a night in a hotel with someone you recently met? It is completely distasteful and inappropriate that this should be acceptable, even offered as a first prize.
Shame on you, Carnival City and Kempton Express, for offering and advertising this to young unmarried people.
Especially when our Aids rate is the highest in the world, and whatever happened to purity before marriage? Must we continue to use and abuse one another so that everything precious we have to give in marriage is all but lost and withered away?
How must they feel knowing the whole of Kempton knows they are going to be spending a night together? I would hope they would be rather ashamed of themselves.
Please, have more respect for yourselves and honour for your families. I’m begging you, young people, don’t just jump into bed with the first person who shows interest in you, wait for marriage. I can tell you it’s totally worth it.
