STEVE du Toit from Glen Marais writes:
I wrote a letter to Kempton Express on August 8 regarding the damaged road in Joubert Street in Glen Marais.
This road was left in a poor state after a broken water pipe was repaired by the municipality.
And so, after more than two years and many telephone calls and promises, my letter was sent to Kempton Express.
On Monday, August 18, I received a telephone call from a gentleman (I did not get his name) from the roads department and the crux of the conversation was that he would make a site visit and would try and have the repair done by Friday, August 22.
I admit that I was not very optimistic that this repair would happen. I mean, more than two years, why now would it all happen in one week?
Well, I was wrong.
I believe that a site inspection was done on August 19 and then early on August 21, workers arrived and the road was repaired in about three hours.
All the road users of Joubert Street and I thank Kempton Express and the gentleman of the roads department who finally had this repair done.
Hi Steve, we were still waiting for a reply from the metro about this problem when we received this letter – Editor
