This allows South African middle aged and baby boomer parents to talk to and see our children and grandchildren living overseas.
Many have gone to prepare a place for us.
It is equally considerate of our children to relocate overseas leaving empty houses, town houses and flats to help the housing shortage problem, not to mention indirectly assisting with the surmounting unemployment dilemma.
I am a financial service provider and am pleasantly surprised by the large number of emails I have received of late, thanking me for my excellent professional service and attention to detail.
I happened to mention this at our new community meeting place (our previous meeting place having become a shebeen and mind-altering drug dispensary). General consensus was that we are so used to extremely poor service in all aspects of our lives in South Africa that, when we actually receive good service and a job well done, it inspires us to write and thank the person or persons concerned.
