CLR JOHANN JORDAAN writes:
Concerned Road User of Terenure’s letter in Express (“Stop passing the P91 buck“) September 11 refers.
The writer is 100 per cent correct regarding the condition of the R25/P91 and the urgent need that exists for the proper upgrading and widening of the road which is overdue for many years now.
The condition of the road and the increased volume of traffic actually make the road a very dangerous one for all users.
The problems associated with the P91 have been raised at various meetings over a long period of time but without the problem getting the attention it deserves. Although this is a provincial road, Kempton Park councillors would like to take the matter up again in a joint venture with the community.
We call on residents to strengthen our hands by signing a petition which we will then take up with the applicable government structures.
To find out where to sign the petition, Call Allan Sauls (ward 13) on 082-685-7951, Joeye Roos (ward 15) on 083-268-5790, Jaco Terblanche (ward 16) on 083-413-2420, Tracey Butler (ward 17) on 082-451-2255 or Johann Jordaan (ward 91) on 083-770-5726.
