Metro claims no knowledge of bee hive in meter

Question remains: who read the meter since July 2014 and how did they do it?

JOHANN FAURIE of Birchleigh writes:

For 33 years, I maintained my pavement (belonging to the municipality) free of charge, until I got stung by bees in my water meter in December 2014.

The metro’s reference numbers given to me were 20150114092129×6793 and 20150127090517×8122. The third time the metro did not even bother to give reference, and or a phone call, nor any service or action.

So, I solved the problem myself. Who is going to refund me for my effort? Ignore the problem long enough and it will go away?

Question remains: who read the meter since July 2014 and how did they do it? I insist on a written answer for this one, because there could be cost and legal implications.

I got photographs of a well established bee hive inside the meter. Who was guessing and who have been fooled?

Themba Gadebe, metro spokesman, replies: The complaint was never brought to our attention. Our officials attend to troublesome bee complaints within 24 hours. However, officials will be sent to do an inspection of any existing bee hive on the property.

THE hive is being removed.
THE hive is being removed.
