An urgent request to our executive mayor.
Dear Mr Mayor, the pensioners in our community, as well as pensioners in other areas of Ekurhuleni, experience a difficult time to survive with their pension pay-outs due to the mismanagement of their pension funds beyond their control.
Your colleague, the executive mayor of Johannesburg, announced last year, that pensioners of 70 years and above were exempt from property taxes.
A request was forwarded to your office for a similar regulation in Ekurhuleni but without success.
Can you, in the light of fairness and compassion, arrange for the same exemption of property taxes for pensioners of 70 plus in Ekurhuleni?
