Chele Chele wins fair and square

Chele Chele’s brace hero Soja completed his hat-trick when he dribbled past his opponents before curling the ball into the top corner to make the score 3-2.

Winnie Mandela Zone Five, Chele Chele FC won a friendly match against Zone 11-based Manchester United FC on April 22 with a score of 3-2.

This encounter at Maokeng Extension Sports Grounds saw both local boys pressing relentlessly to ensure that they win the game.

The encounter saw Chele Chele’s reliable striker Solomon “Soja” Chimbishi dribbling the ball past his opponents and managed to put the ball behind the net in 35 minutes of the first half. At the break, the score was 1-0.

Coming from the second half, both teams came back well organised, but Chele Chele’s striker put on a brace goal in the 57th minute after he had received a well-timed pass from his teammate.

Against the run of play, Manchester United increased the margin when their striker Thapelo Sebake managed to beat the keeper with a rocket and registered the only goal for his team.

“We also need to work on our movement of the ball and basically play positional football,” said coach Khanye.

He said soccer is a great way of keeping these youngsters off the street while empowering them with a skill they could potentially turn into a career.
