In celebration of the victory, the team was taken to Monaledi’s game reserve called Windy Brow Game Farm and Nature Reserve in Cullinan on June 8.

The police officers were taken on a wildlife adventure where they were taught about and exposed to a variety of wildlife animals, including zebras, giraffes, red hartebeest, and impala.

They also participated in team building obstacles.

The current Miss Tembisa, Tokollo Bapela, who was joined by her management of Siyaphumelela Youth Initiative, attended the celebration.

When addressing the soccer players, Monaledi, who has recently opened Monaledi Supermarket in Moriting Section, said there’s a huge negativity around the police force.

“If one police officer does something wrong, that particular mistake will affect the whole force. That type of perception discourages other officers who are going all out to serve and protect the public. I was excited to be approached by the Tembisa SAPS for sponsorship in order to celebrate their achievement. I then thought of offering them a once in a lifetime adventure and motivational tour, with an aim to make them relax and forget about stressful police cases that they are faced with on a daily basis,” explained Monaledi.

Tembisa SAPS Captain Mabakane Pitsi participates in one of the team building obstacles.

Tembisa SAPS Captain Mabakane Pitsi said he was pleased to be part of the team, especially since they’ve never been on such an eye-opening trip as a football club.

“We normally celebrate our achievements but not in this manner. This trip was really one of the best trips that I’ve ever had in a period of five years. We are thankful to have community leaders such as Monaledi who are passionate about reviving the spirit of Ubuntu among the communities,” added Pitsi.

Meanwhile, Sergeant Chipu Komana said he was happy about the team’s achievement and more importantly for the team to have presented a remarkable performance throughout the league.

Monaledi also sponsored the police officers with free lunch and drinks.
