SA Derby at Kyalami Park pulls out all the stops this year

The Sunday event will be rocking a ‘Spring in the Hamptons’ dress code and an official after-party

The 52nd edition of The SA Derby at Kyalami Park will return in September with much flair, including a strictly smart, ‘Spring in the Hamptons’ dress code on the final day.

The derby will continue to be sponsored by Cell C through its new entertainment offering, black.

The event will take place from September 26 to 30, with the highlight the South African 1.50m derby final at noon on Sunday, September 30.

The Sunday event will be rocking a ‘Spring in the Hamptons’ dress code and an official after-party, featuring South African artists Rubber Duc, Goodluck, Georgetown, Ultramel, Tomorrow’s Will, Kyle Worde and Greg Walsh.

Having partnered with G&G Productions, Kyalami Park club chairman Jan Kleynhans says this year will be the best yet.

Entertainment, other than the horse side of things, will include a VIP champagne village, VVIP suites and food and retail village.

“We’ve decreased the number of grandstand tickets available to 70 per cent of 2017, ensuring better comfort,” Kleynhans said.

Four-time Derby winner and Team Nissan Showjumping captain Barry Taylor say that this is absolutely the place you want to be seen.

“The SA Derby is the equestrian calendar highlight for us showjumpers with the courses being of the highest standard,” he said. Tickets for the event are already on sale. Visit www.thederby.co.za
