Liverpool FC decimate Brilliant FC
After the second goal, Brilliant substituted their young goalkeeper Tshiamo Komane with a more experienced one.
Liverpool FC celebrated a 4-1 victory against Brilliant FC in their Midrand Local Football Association league encounter at Rabie Ridge Stadium on Sunday. Liverpool showed hunger from the onset when Gift Mmola scored their opening goal within the first minute. Liverpool took the ball from the centre and capitalised from poor defending by Brilliant FC.
Mmola tried to score again within the first half hour but the Brilliant keeper made a superb save. Liverpool’s number 15 committed a foul in the 27th minute resulting in a yellow card. Liverpool coach Meshack Matlala also got a yellow card after disputing his player’s yellow card with the referee.
Liverpool defender Samuel Nobula scored their second goal in the 36th minute after poor defending by Brilliant FC at a set piece. After the second goal, Brilliant substituted their young goalkeeper Tshiamo Komane with a more experienced one.

The second half resumed with the score at 2-0 against Brilliant. Captain Lino Giulube of Brilliant said they were supposed to be more offensive in the first half and pressing them from their half but they could not because their wingers could not press much from the sides.
Liverpool attacked from right to left but nine minutes into the second half Brilliant scored their first goal, making the score line 2-1. Fifteen minutes into the second half Mbazo missed a one on one scoring opportunity from a through pass, three minutes after Mmola scored again to make the score 3-1.
Mmola’s third goal was ruled out as being offside. The fourth goal came after Mmola was substituted with Matokwane “Alley” Machite.
Brilliant coach Lucky Chunda said during the first half they lost easy balls to the opponents and were not playing to their potential.

“When we scored the goal in the second half I thought the boys had switched on and we were coming back but we were not,” said Chunda.
Liverpool captain Mmola said the game was fine and just the finishing up touches were a bit of a problem, otherwise they could have scored more goals.
“The biggest problem was communication on the field when someone had the ball. For the next match we have to fix the basics, including communication from the back. We must keep on winning,” said Mmola.
