Remember My Promise suffers defeat against Best Team
Godfrey Thathaisa, Remember My Promise coach, said they played a good game.
Best Team enjoyed a 11-10 penalty shoot-out victory after a 2-2 draw against Remember My Promise at Kopanong Sports Ground in Ivory Park Extension 15 on July 7.
The two masters rivals drew 2-2 after the final whistle, heading to a penalty shoot-out. Best Team dominated in the first half, ending it with two goals in their favour. In the second half, Remember My Promise proved to be troublesome when they fought their way back and eqaulised in the 82nd minute.
Godfrey Thathaisa, Remember My Promise coach, said they played a good game.
“We tried to get opportunities which were not converted, but the players showed experience in the field coming from 2-0 down to eqaulise, forcing the game to penalties,” said Thathaisa.

“We try to pull supporters back to sports grounds and call on sports men to remember how it feels to be on the field,” said Remember My Promise captain Tebogo Madliwa.
“It was a tough game. We got to shoot 11 times, which shows that both teams wanted it more than the other. Unfortunately, we missed our chance and we lost,” said Madliwa.
Thabiso Nkonoane, Best Team coach, said they could have finished the game early, but the problem was the striking force in the second half by the other team.
“We lacked control of the game in the midfield. Our back four weren’t getting enough support from the midfielders, so in the second half we had to strengthen our defence,” said Nkonoane.
“We won with penalty shoot-outs, as we all know, penalties are a lottery,” said Nkonoane.
