The Queens continued to struggle against the Girls throughout the match.

Mkhize followed up on her earlier in-game action to score another goal for the Girls, taking the score to 3-0.

As the Girls continued to dominate the Queens, the captain of the Golden Girls wanted her name on the scoreboard and was successful, scoring the fourth goal for the Girls.

Soon after, the ref awarded a penalty to the Queens. Thamsanqa Zengele took it and scored.

With only a few minutes left, Mkhize prepared for and scored her hat-trick to give the Girls a 5-1 lead in the second half.

Katlego Masia, the Melokuhle Queens coach, said he is pleased with his team’s performance.

“I feel amazed with the team’s performance because it is a new team. I am happy even though the results are not good. We take one step at a time.

“The team can compete with any team they come across. We do not fear anything. The only problem we had in the match was that we came with the starting 11 without any subs,” Masia said.

Golden Girls coach Isabel Bambo said the girls did well and was impressed by their performance.

“It was a game well-played by the girls. We were strong when attacking, but I feel we could have scored more goals.

“I am happy about the strategy and the tactics the team displayed. We look forward to putting more effort in because we will proceed in the league,” Bambo said.
