EMPD arrests seven in Ekurhuleni drug and firearm operation

The suspects were detained at their respective police stations and face charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and illegal substances.

Officers from the EMPD’s Drug Enforcement, Intervention and Community Liaison units arrested seven people found with illegal substances and an unlicensed firearm between October 2 and 4.

The arrests followed information received about people allegedly selling drugs in communities across the CoE.

During the operation, officers arrested seven men aged between 32 and 54, confiscating one unlicensed firearm, 95 ziplock bags of crystal meth, 16 Mandrax tablets, 14 ziplock bags of Cat, 25 ziplock bags of heroin and a quantity of dagga, all with an estimated street value of R8 000.

The suspects were detained at their respective police stations and face charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and illegal substances.
They will soon appear in their respective magistrates’ courts.
