Tennis charity open day to benefit Tawana Children’s Home in Birch Acres

Tennis players and enthusiasts are invited to take part in Birch Acres Sports Club’s open day charity drive, with all proceeds supporting Tawana Children’s Home.

The Light Work Birch Acres Sports Club will host an open day tennis charity drive on November 2 to raise funds for the Tawana Children’s Home NPO.

The event will take place at the corner of Lepelaar and Valk avenues in Birch Acres and promises a full day of tennis activities for all ages.

The programme includes:
• Juniors’ play: 08:30 to 10:30 (free entry)
• Adults: singles and doubles tournament at 11:00 to 14:00
• Tennis workshop and open play from 14:00 to 15:00

Lubuto Chitibwi, founder of Light Work Projects, encouraged residents to support the initiative by donating any amount towards Tawana Children’s Home.

“Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference in the lives of the children at Tawana,” said Chitibwi.

In addition to organising the event, Chitibwi is set to run his first sub-three-hour marathon in support of the home.
