Kempton Park resident and professional wrestler Hector Payne made his return to the ring on January 31, travelling to Durban to face a long-time rival in a three-way TLC (tables, ladders and chairs) match.
Unfortunately, the bout did not go as planned, with Payne losing the match.
Payne had been scheduled to retire in May last year, but those plans were derailed after he broke his collarbone in an accident.

Following a lengthy recovery, he made his comeback with two matches, including the first-ever deathmatch held in Durban against Nightmare and international deathmatch star Suma Te Woke La.
Reflecting on his journey back to wrestling, Payne said the injury only strengthened his determination to return.
“After breaking my collarbone, the doctors said I would never wrestle again. That just gave me more motivation to get back in the ring,” he said.
“I even thought about abandoning my retirement plans. I still feel like I’ve got a bit left in me, so I’m not putting a date on it again. I’ll keep going for as long as I can.”
