West Rand touch rugby league set to start
The league will kick off on 10 June as an event for the entire family.
West Rand Touch Rugby will kick off their new league on Wednesday, 10 June at the Sterkfontein Heritage Lodge.
The league will last for 10 weeks and is played every Wednesday evening from 7pm.
The club has just finished its Summer Super Touch Rugby League where groups from all over the West Rand battled for the title.
The local club’s founder, Kobus Krugers, said individual players, friends, school teams, corporate companies and women’s teams in the West Rand area are encouraged to enter their teams into the league.
Kruger said the sport is mainly a non-contact sport that keeps rugby players fit and active.
“There is a cash bar and restaurant available, bring your family and friends for a fun night out,” he said.
