[WATCH] Taxi drivers cause havoc in Krugersdorp

Commissioner Street was blocked off by dozens of taxis.

Krugersdorpers in town witnessed the Kagiso Taxi Association expressing their dissatisfaction with the local government.

The association held a procession with hundreds of taxis from their hub in Kagiso to Commissioner Street in the CDB, where they then stopped and continued on foot to the Centenary Hall earlier this morning.

The taxi drivers handed over a memorandum to Mogale City officials, in which they express their grievances. These grievances include the removal of corrupt officials, the implementation of taxi stops with shelters and a decrease in senseless fines.

An official met the drivers at one of the gates to the hall, and accepted the memorandum. The memorandum will then be reviewed and a decision will be made with regard to what will be done.

The News contact the chairperson of the association, Justice Dladla for comment, but he could not be reached at this time.

The News is also still waiting for comment from the spokesperson of Mogale City Local Municipality, Nkosana Zali.
