Riders gallop to gold at Sanesa’s
The instructors at Oppistal were very proud to be sending seven of their young students to the show.
Riders and horses from Oppistal, a fully fledged equine recreational and rehab centre, put in a lot of time and effort preparing for the first South African National Equestrian Schools Association (Sanesa) Western Qualifier on Sunday, 11 March at Rose Lane Stables.
Their preparations included practicing the patterns every chance they got, doing show clinics, bathing of horses, show grooming and even boots and blankets for the boxing of the horses.

The students did very well and all their hard work paid off. Students brought home a variety of prizes which included first, second and third places in various classes including Western Pleasure, Western Trail, Western Horsemanship, Western Dressage and Reining.

The students (and their horses, of course) who participated are:
• Dane Steyn – with Bullet Proof Arrow and Full Monty (Hoërskool Monument)
• JC Oberholzer – with Doney Dash (Laerskool Florida)
• Keila Schutte-Hanekom – with Mountneys Kiss Me (Curro Krugersdorp)
• Kyra Cronje – with Sylvester and Dx Docs a Stinger (Alma Mater Akademy)
• Lisha Voster – with Honey Bear (Adante) (Hoërskool Noordheuwel)
• Michelle Gouws – with Voodoo (Hoërskool Monument)
• Mischa Rothman – with Humphries Memetika (Flicka) (Homeschool Academy)
