Stolen goods recovered

Goods to the value of R1 million were recoverd by the South African Police Service.

The Provincial Investigative Team of the South African Police Service recovered stolen goods to the value of approximately R1 million in Muldersdrift.

Captain Appel Ernst, a police spokesperson says that an investigation led them to three men who pretended to be informants by telling the police that the goods were being stored in the Honeydew area. However, it later turned out that it was being stored in the Muldersdrift area.

“The stolen goods consisting of pantyhose, hats, vehicle parts and household items such as towels, face cloths and many other items are believed to have been stolen during a truck hijacking in Harrismith in March.”

She says that the truck was recovered a day after the hijacking, but that a container with the goods had been missing since.

“The three suspects who posed as informants already appeared in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.”
